Our Vision

Our Vision

At Bertie’s all staff have been involved in forming our ‘vision statement’ which describes the vision we have, and are continuously striving towards:

We believe in a child-centred approach where childhood is celebrated and cherished, and where children are viewed as capable, confident and creative. In genuine partnership with parents we make sure that each child’s levels of well-being and involvement are the priority.

To achieve this vision we are committed to:

Being a staff team that is reflective, principled and committed to continuous improvement;

Providing an environment that is welcoming, secure and values the uniqueness of every child and their family;

Celebrating and cherishing an unhurried early childhood as important in its own right and as a firm foundation for lifelong learning;

Viewing children as capable, confident and creative, and as active participants in the learning process;

Engaging in genuine partnership with parents to make sure that each child’s levels of well-being and involvement are the priority;

Discovering children’s fascinations in a natural, inspiring and challenging play environment inside and out – one that stimulates curiosity and an enquiring spirit.
“As the human lifespan becomes longer, why is childhood becoming ever shortened?”
